COVID-19 AWARENESS TRAINING
ONLINE CLASSES
I'm currently running online exercise classes using a video meeting facility called Zoom. If you are interested in joining in with this from your home (whether using smartphone/laptop/tablet/i-Pad or PC) AND you have previously attended one of my classes "in real life" please let me know and I'll email you instructions on how to do so, what to wear and bring to the class and how to make your exercise space safe.
We "meet" on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a one-hour class from 2.30pm. Please login up to 15 minutes beforehand. Cost: £20pcm gives you access to as many classes as you'd like to attend.
If you haven't attended a real life class and you live within 10 miles of central Cheltenham, you can join a waiting list for a pre-exercise assessment which will be carried out as soon as face-to-face home visits are allowed again under Covid safety regulations.
Hope to see you soon!

STOP PRESS : CORONAVIRUS UPDATE 16 MARCH 2020
As of Tuesday 17 March, all classes will be suspended until further notice, based on the Governmental advice given to all over 70s to remain at home in a measure to stay safe and well.
It's very important that you keep exercising if home-bound, to keep core muscle strength up (which will help with your balance) and to support your immune system. If you would like to have a resistance band to work with at home, I have various strength bands on order at the moment which I can deliver to your home at no extra cost other than that for the band itself at cost price (£7). Please contact me on my mobile number (07817 851214) if you would like to have one.
UPDATE: I have currently (27 March) got one 2m long red band (light) and one 2m long blue band (medium strong) left in stock
Stay home and stay well everyone!

CURRENT MEASURES TO COMBAT CORONAVIRUS
Given that many of our class attendees fall into the more vulnerable groups as regards this virus (aged over 60 with one or more chronic health issues, particularly respiratory systems),w are being extra vigilant as regards hand hygiene and self-care. Attendees are encouraged to bring their hand sanitisers to class and either use these or use the venue's toilet facilities to hand wash thoroughly before entering class and afterwards (and definitely before having a cup of tea or coffee and biscuit after class, where this is on offer).
Also, we attempt to keep all equipment (resistance bands, ankle weights, sponge balls etc) as clean as possible but cannot absolutely guarantee that it will remain virus-free. Attendees are encouraged to purchase their own band wherever possible (to this end, we keep a stock of brand new, unopened, bands available for purchase, £7 each, at every class). Even in this instance, hand washing/sanitising is recommended before/after class anyway in case any other surface is touched (eg chair backs for balance exercises) during class or afterwards. If you would prefer not to use communal equipment for the foreseeable future, please let the instructor know; as it's to ensure your maximum safety, no offence will be taken at all!
Finally, we may feel that as individuals, we are not particularly at risk. These extra measures to enhance participants' safety are not just for us, but for everyone who might be. If we all adhere to them, we will help more vulnerable participants to feel more supported and safe to remain in class. One or two people have been in touch to say they won't be attending for a while as they are looking after relatives at home who are unwell and in a risk category. Please do consider if this also applies to you. Thanks for your support.
We will continue to review good practice in light of future developments. Wash well, stay well!
